Beautiful to see, but the organization of the tours was very unprofessional! When buying the (expensive) tickets it said the tour lasts 45 minutes… instead they broke the group up in two and we watched a tv show for 30 minutes and then had only 10 minutes to see the house and were completely rushed out for the next group. It was not what was advertised and if I knew the tour would be so short and so rushed I would have preferred to pay much less.
Opened to the public for the first time this year. Maxxi museum in Rome organized an exhibition in concert with the opening of the house museum. All tickets to visit the house are sold out. See Maxxi website for info about booking if it gets extended.
Bellooo
Giacomo Balla has made his home a work of art and every single object and wall is part of a single great work which is his own home.
Unfortunately many ornaments are copies as most of the original objects are exhibited in museums which can make the house seem bare at times and no longer close to its original splendor.
The visit is very interesting and explains every single room of the house well.
The film shown at the end of the exhibition is also interesting and allows you to experience the house as it originally was.
An experience that is very worth it but the cost of the ticket is a little too high given that the exhibition lasts only an hour.
So beautiful and unique. The greatest Italian abstract artist of all times.
One of the most eccentric and peculiar places in Rome, all but touristic. The place where the art of the futuristic movement blend with everyday life.
When you study art for a lifetime, read about the avant-garde artistic movement of Futurism and about Balla as an artist, seeing his house for real was exciting and engaging.
I breathed in places of other times.
The concept of making artistic vision an involvement in all areas of life as Balla did is beautiful.
Today it is managed by Maxxi.
Go and visit it, it's worth it,
It is on the 4th floor and you cannot use the lift, except for those with problems and the disabled.
Very interesting visit. Duration approximately 1 hour with half the time dedicated to watching a video which however is longer and is only partially seen. You need a video calibrated to the duration available. The staff is prepared, the visit to the various environments takes place with half of the group while the other watches the video. You wait your turn outside the building. You walk up to the 4th floor. Definitely worth it.
